Renowned TV host, Ellen DeGeneres has acknowledged that mistakes were made on her show and wants everything to start afresh.
Introducing the latest season (18) of her famous talk show – The Ellen Show, the comedian said the show was starting a new chapter.

Hosting the first episode of the new season from the studio and with a virtual audience from home, Ellen admitted that she had learnt about things that should have never happened. She said:
“I take that very seriously, and I want to say am so sorry to the people who were affected. I know that I am in a position of privilege and power and I realise with that comes responsibility and I take responsibility for what happens at my show.”
Ellen said she and the team had discussed the future of the show and made the necessary changes.
She also spoke about articles in the press and social media that labelled her a hypocrite and even became known as the “be kind” lady which she found to be out of order.
The TV host said she was the same person that guys saw on TV and she could not fool everyone for 17 years of her being on air.
Investigations on the show
A few weeks back, Legit.ng reported that the show’s distributors, Warner Media, launched a probe into behind the scene situation at the studio.
The investigation was opened due to accusations from former and current employees about bullying and a lot of toxicity at the workplace.
There were also reports that the controversies had led some of her top celebrity pals to desert her.
The fact that Ellen who is a friend to several A-listers and none of them came out to defend her – was seen as very surprising.
However, days later – comedian Kevin Hart and singer Katy Perry came to her defence saying she is a great person and could not believe the accusations against her.
