Willian has been selected as the player to replace the injured Neymar in Brazil‘s Copa America squad.

Tite opted for the Chelsea winger to replace the Paris Saint-Germain star who suffered a blow to the ankle in a friendly against Qatar and will miss the tournament in his native country.

There were several candidates to replace Neymar, including Real Madrid youngster Vinicius Junior.

However, Tite finally went with the experienced Willian, who played his last match on 29 May in the final of the Europa League which Chelsea won against Arsenal in Baku.

The player is already on his way to Brazil and joins the group on Saturday morning in Porto Alegre, where the team will take on Honduras.

It will be the last friendly before the Copa America begins on Sunday, at 4.00pm CET, at the Estadio Beira-Rio.

Willian has played 65 times with Brazil and has scored eight goals.
