Leicester City have cooled their interest in Reece James after Chelsea showed little sign of wishing to sell their prospect, reports the Daily Mail.
James Justin of Luton Town is seen as a more realistic target at full-back, and has also gained interest from Stoke City and Aston Villa.
Real Betis‘ Mexico international Diego Lainez has redoubled his commitment to making a name in European football, ruling out a mooted return to America.
Lainez, 18, earned a move to La Liga at the start of 2019, but found it difficult to establish himself in the team previously coached by Quique Setien.
The winger made just three league starts following his transfer as Betis slipped to a 10th-placed finish, with Setien leaving at the end of the season to be replaced by Rubi.

Inter midfielder Radja Nainggolan has distanced himself from reports claiming he is ready to leave San Siro.
“I am not talking about the transfer market, I have always been on a team for many years and it would be strange if I left Inter after just one season,” said the Belgian.

Former Manchester United striker Wayne Rooney has said the Red Devils should focus on signing younger players with potential, compared to more expensive, older stars.

Football journalist Duncan Castles has said Manchester United executive vice-chairman Ed Woodward will not allow Anthony Martial to leave the club this summer as he was one of his signings, despite manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer wanting to selling the winger.
“Perhaps Solskjaer would like to move Anthony Martial on having seen the drop in his performance after he got his new contract,”Castles told The Transfer Window podcast.

Tottenham will make a bid for Fulham winger Ryan Sessegnon later this summer, according to football.london.
Spurs have been long-term admirers of the youngster, and with Sessegnon having just a year left on his current deal and Fulham’s recent relegation to the Championship, the Tottenham hierarchy believe now is the perfect time to make a bid for the midfielder.
The north London club will however, wait until Sessegnon’s involvement with England at the European under-21 Championships has concluded before making a formal bid.
Manchester United, Liverpool and Paris Saint-Germain are also said to be interested in the 19-year-old, but Sessegnon is believed to be keen on a move to Mauricio Pochettino’s Tottenham.
Samuel Umtiti has revealed he is unaware of claims that senior Barcelona players vetoed Antoine Griezmann’s move to the Spanish champions, as was reported last month.

Therefore, according to the Mirror, United are prepared to take Bale on loan for the 2019-20 season, with the possibility of extending it by another year.

The MailOnline claim West Ham United have made enquires regarding the availability of Fulham’s Aleksander Mitrovic and Eibar‘s Joan Jordan.
Mitrovic bagged 11 Premier League goals for relegated Fulham last season and is expected to leave the Cottagers this summer.
Jordan, on the other hand, played 36 games for 12th-place Eibar in 2018/19 and has also been linked with a move to Arsenal.
Barcelona goalkeeper Jasper Cillessen has admitted he has spoken to Matthijs de Ligt about the young defender’s future.
“I sat down with him to talk about all his options, but the same as I did with Frenkie [De Jong], I told him that the decision belongs to him,” Cillessen said, via the Mirror.
“Matthijs is a good boy and he knows what he has to do. I talked to him, but I told him that I could not make the decision for him, he knows what he has to do.
