Former Cagliari right-back Darijo Srna has retired from professional football to take up a coaching role at Shakhtar Donetsk.
That has been followed by Shakhtar announcing that he will return to the club to form part of the technical staff of new Coach Luis Castro, who replaces Roma-bound Paulo Fonseca.
The 37-year-old is arguably the Ukrainian side’s greatest-ever player, making over 500 appearances between 2003 and 2018, and played 134 times for Croatia.
