Nearly six months after the Super Bowl, the NFL is back Thursday night.
The Carolina Panthers and Arizona Cardinals will face off in the traditional preseason opener, the Hall of Fame Game in Canton, Ohio, getting an early start on their preparations for the 2026 campaign.
While Bryce Young remains key to the Panthers’ fortunes, he won’t be suiting up Thursday. Kenny Pickett will get the start at QB for Carolina with undrafted rookie Haynes King from Georgia Tech set to back him up.
The Cardinals will use the opener to take a long look at third-round pick Carson Beck, who will start at QB with Jacoby Brissett and Gardner Minshew not expected to play.
