Shoppers go wild for Aldi’s viral £3.49 Olaplex dupe

Aldi has announced a restock of its sell-out Bonded Haircare range for winter, and at just £3.49 a product it’s easy to see why the products have been such a hit amongst shoppers.

The influencer-approved range, which sold out in less than one week following its initial launch, includes a shampoo, conditioner and pre-wash treatment. Boasting a host of luxe ingredients, the products promise to hydrate, nourish and repair broken bonds for healthy, frizz-free and visibly smooth locks.

The range has been compared to other cult haircare products including Olaplex, which costs almost £50 for the shampoo and conditioner duo, and closer to £90 if you include the pre-wash treatment, meaning beauty lovers can bag themselves an impressive 88% saving at Aldi.

First say goodbye to split ends with the Lacura Pre-Wash Hair Treatment (£3.49, 100ml), which promises stronger, shinier hair and reduced damage in the long run.

This potent pre-shampoo treatment claims to strengthen and condition hair while nourishing it with Panthenol and Jojoba Seed Oil ingredients. For gorgeously shiny hair, the instructions suggest using once a week from root to tip for 10 minutes before shampooing.

Step two is using the Lacura Bonded Shampoo (£3.49, 250ml) to thoroughly cleanse and rebuild. Glycerin, castor, banana, and pomegranate extracts are also used in the formula to support healthy hair follicles and contribute proteins that aid in root-to-shaft hair repair.

The Lacura Bonded Shampoo (£3.49, 250ml) is sold in a set with the Lacura Bonded Conditioner (£3.49, 250ml), which uses avocado and argan oil to strengthen damaged hair and give hair a frizz-free finish.

Some of the key ingredients in the range include propylene glycol, which helps keep hair feeling soft and knot-free.

Glycerin is a hydrating ingredient that helps draw moisture from the air to your hair, as well as hyaluronic acid which can hold around 1,000 times its own weight in water.

Polyquaternium-37 is an antistatic to reduce frizz and panthenol helps strengthen the hair and lock in moisture. To top it off argan oil, derived from plants, hydrates your scalp and ends.

One thing the range is missing is the hero ingredient used by Olaplex, bis-aminopropyl diglycol dimaleate, which works on a molecular level to strengthen hair from within.

One review of the range on the Aldi website reads: “I bought these to try them out and they are actually better than the branded names ones definitely be buying them again.”

Another gushes: “As a hairdresser I’m Olaplex trained. And this product is just as good and a lot cheaper. With very damaged hair from years of wearing hair extensions i found this has worked wonders and gave my hair back some strength and goodness. Infact my hair feels the best it has in a long time.”

Lacura’s Bonded Haircare range will return to stores from 11 December with pre-order available online from 4 December.
