Portuguese forward Rafael Leao has opened up on what he is looking forward to doing with Super Eagles star Victor Osimhen at Galatasaray after agreeing to join the Turkish champions, Soccernet.ng reports. The 27-year-old has agreed a move to the Cimbom, bringing an end to months of uncertainty over his future and is now set to play alongside Osimhen for the first time in his career. The pair previously faced each other during their time in Serie A, with the Super Eagles star representing Napoli and Leao playing for AC Milan. Despite being rivals on the pitch, the two have remained close friends and will now become teammates at Galatasaray from this season onwards. Leao reportedly chose a move to Turkey over Premier League side Aston Villa, who had also entered the race for his signature. Galatasaray have agreed a fee in excess of €45 million including add-ons to complete the transfer, while Leao is expected to earn around €12 million per year on a four-year contract. However, the transfer fee remains well below the €75 million Galatasaray paid to sign Osimhen permanently from Napoli last summer, which remains the most expensive arrival in Turkish league history. Osimhen has been at Galatasaray since initially joining the club on loan in 2024 and has already helped them win three trophies in two seasons, including two Super Lig titles. Leao, who has arrived in Istanbul to complete his move, explained how Osimhen influenced his decision to join Galatasaray and revealed his ambition to win more trophies while also making a deep run in the Champions League alongside the Nigerian striker. “We had a meeting with Osimhen before the transfer. He’s a very good friend of mine”, the Portuguese star said, via Forza Cimbom. “Now we’re together, we’ll do good work, we’ll achieve beautiful things, we’ll achieve big things for Galatasaray! We want to become champions, we want to rise high in Europe.”
Leao is expected to be presented at Rams Park later tonight as Galatasaray look to maintain their unbeaten start to the season when they face Goztepe.

Osimhen will also be in action in the encounter and will be looking to continue his impressive start to the season after scoring braces against Corum and Erzurumspor in his first two games of the campaign.
