Prakash Ambedkar-led Vanchit Bahujan Aghadi (VBA) has called for a Maharashtra bandh on Thursday, July 23, with protests planned across the state. In Mumbai, protests are planned at Kurla, CST, Bhandup, Anushakti Nagar, Vikhroli, Chembur and Bandra. Speaking to CNBC-TV18, the VBA said its workers will stage protests across Maharashtra throughout the day and maintained that the bandh will be peaceful. “We will not force anyone to shut their businesses.
We will request them to keep their establishments closed for just one day in solidarity with the children of the country,” the party said. The Congress has extended its support to the bandh, along with some Left outfits and other social organisations, according to the VBA.
