Force Motors, on Thursday, launched the new Urbania Deluxe, a premium variant of its next-generation shared mobility platform. The model replaces the outgoing Urbania and becomes the company’s standard offering in the premium shared mobility segment. As per the company, the original Urbania was India’s first fully ground-up modular monocoque van platform, creating a new segment domestically and building a presence overseas. The Deluxe adds upgrades focused on comfort, performance and technology. A TFT instrument cluster shows real-time vehicle data, while a 23 cm (9-inch) HD touchscreen handles infotainment, offering smartphone connectivity, online and offline navigation, a reverse camera, voice alerts and hands-free calling. The new Urbania Deluxe’s cabin features leatherette seats, quilted upholstery and wood-finish flooring, with 3-point seat belts fitted for every passenger. Other additions include new 16-inch alloy wheels, a power-operated sliding footstep, an 8-speaker Digital Theatre System, and illuminated USB Type-A and Type-C charging ports across all rows. Every passenger gets a 3-point seat belt, alongside driver and co-driver airbags, all-wheel disc brakes, Electronic Stability Programme, Anti-lock Braking System, Electronic Brake-force Distribution and Engine Drag Torque Control. Force Motors backs the Deluxe with its Force Care package, comprising i-Pulse telematics, a five-year or 5 lakh km warranty, a three-year sensor warranty, and three years of Roadside Assistance.
The dashboard gets a TFT instrument cluster and a 23 cm (9-inch) HD touchscreen infotainment system with smartphone connectivity and navigation. Prasan Firodia, Managing Director of Force Motors, said the original Urbania redefined premium shared passenger mobility in India and won acceptance both at home and abroad. He added that the Deluxe takes the platform further with improved performance and technology, and that the company remains focused on raising standards in comfort, safety and performance.
Price And Options
The Urbania Deluxe will be offered in three wheelbases and eight seating layouts, from 9+D to 16+D configurations, through Force Motors’ dealer network across India. Prices start at ₹28.7 lakh, ex-showroom. Founded in 1958 by NK Firodia, Force Motors runs five plants in India, employs over 10,000 people, and is chaired by Abhay Firodia. Its Pune R&D centre has a design team of over 1,000. The company exports light commercial and multi-utility vehicles to more than 25 countries.
It builds and tests engines for Mercedes-Benz and BMW’s India-made cars and SUVs at its Chakan and Chennai plants, respectively. Its joint venture with Rolls-Royce Power Systems AG, Force MTU Power Systems, makes 10- and 12-cylinder Series 1600 engines (545 hp to 1,050 hp) for global power generation and rail use. Other products include the Traveller N, Trax, Force Traveller Monobus, and the Force Gurkha, sold in 3-door and 5-door variants.
