Klay Thompson revealed Draymond Green was the teammate he was closest to during his time with the Warriors. Thompson described his relationship with Steph Curry as more of a “big brother role model.” Thompson has previously expressed interest in both returning to the Warriors and competing for another championship. Former Golden State Warriors guard Klay Thompson recently appeared on a livestream and spoke about his tenure in the Bay Area. Thompson, or “Killa Klay,” was a vital part of Golden State’s success, averaging 19.6 points, 3.5 rebounds, 2.3 assists, 0.9 steals and 0.5 blocks in 793 appearances, helping the Warriors win four NBA championships.
During his tenure, the former Washington State product revealed the teammate he was closest with throughout his journey, saying, “I’d say Draymond, just because we’re the same age. We went through everything together. We were teammates for 13 seasons, and we would hang out a lot off the court and play a lot of dominos.”
“Steph is more of a big brother role model to me because he’s two years older than me. He’s an incredible family man.”
Considering an impending rebuild in Dallas with first-year NBA head coach Dusty May, there is a possibility that Thompson will be on the move before the end of the year. While he has expressed interest in returning to the Bay Area previously, he also stated his desire to compete for a championship. For more NBA content, tune in to the BasketBaltes podcast:
