Juve rush to get De Ligt deal

Juventus are working on the contract details after Matthijs de Ligt seemed to favour them, but PSG are fighting back for the Ajax defender.

He had seemingly been on the verge of a move to Paris Saint-Germain until late last night reports from De Telegraaf and Sky Sport Italia warned the Dutch international was ready to join Juve.

More details are emerging today, as multiple sources including Gianluca Di Marzio note Juventus are rushing to strike while the iron’s hot.

It’d be a salary worth €12m per year net – so minus taxes and not including performance-related bonuses or add-ons – with a release clause of at least €150m.

That figure would probably reach the €15-20m gross wage that was reported by De Telegraaf.

Ajax have long been believed to accept a transfer fee of €70m, so it’s now up to Juve, Barcelona and PSG to work out personal terms.

With this in mind, it’s also rumoured in De Telegraaf that Paris Saint-Germain director Leonardo is taking a different tack, offering De Ligt’s girlfriend Annekee Molenaar modelling contracts and preparing a palatial home in Paris.
