How much are Juve paying for Sarri?

There are huge discrepancies between Italian and English reports of how much compensation Juventus will pay Chelsea, but all agree Maurizio Sarri will be released on Friday.

Multiple sources from Sportitalia to the Daily Telegraph to Sky Sport Italia and the BBC all have the same verdict: Sarri will be formally released from his Chelsea contract on Friday, June 14.

It’ll then be a matter of days, if not hours, until he signs a three-year deal with Juventus.

However, there are very big differences in the figures being bandied about on either side of Europe.

Italian sources are all confident the compensation Juve agreed to pay is around €3.5-4m, essentially the same amount Chelsea will need to buy Frank Lampard out of his Derby County contract.

There are also some performance-related bonuses included in the agreement, so that figure could rise.

However, stories in England all point to a much higher fee, going from €7m all the way up to €12m.

It’s possible this includes the bonuses and any other discounts that Juve will give on transfers, for example Gonzalo Higuain’s €9m six-month loan fee.

Whatever the final figures, it’s safe to say Sarri will quit Stamford Bridge for good on Friday.
