Roster cut-down day in the NFL was Sunday. Each franchise was required to trim its active roster to 53 players after the conclusion of the preseason, thus creating the initial rosters for each of the league’s 32 teams. The Oklahoma Sooners, as always, have a number of players on the initial 53-man active rosters across the league. They’ll likely end up with even more players with pro contracts. Each team will sign a practice squad, with many of the players who were just cut landing there.
Today, we list each former Sooner who made the cut on judgment day. We also include a couple of players who aren’t on their teams’ active rosters but are listed on injured reserve.
First, a couple of ground rules. We include only players who finished their careers at OU, so no outgoing transfers who finished elsewhere made the list. Additionally, this list will change almost constantly throughout the season. Many former Sooners who don’t appear here will make practice squads.
There’s no possible way to get a full list given all of the daily transactions that take place in the NFL, so after roster cuts and before waivers and practice squads get set are about as close as it gets. For now, though, here are the former Oklahoma Sooners listed on the active rosters (or on injured reserve) for each NFL team as of Sunday’s roster cut deadline.
