The countdown until the start of the 2026 Kentucky Wildcats football season is halfway through, with 50 days until game one. As we count the days down, we’re getting to know this year’s roster, and today we’re taking a look at No. 50, Max Anderson. Anderson is a 6’5″, 299 lb offensive lineman out of Texas.
Coming out of high school, he was rated four stars, and ranked as the No. 284 overall player in the 2024 recruiting class on the 247Sports composite board. Offers from a number of top teams, especially from the SEC, poured in, but Anderson wound up committing to the Tennessee Volunteers.
He redshirted as a freshman, then, last season, played in all 13 games for the Vols, proving to be solid and versatile player on the offensive line. This offseason, Anderson decided to enter the transfer portal, and landed with Will Stein and Kentucky as a part of the rebuild of the big blue wall.
He’s expected to be the backup right tackle, but can move around if needed. He also has a lot of upside, and could be a starting tackle next season. He’s going to play a lot this season, even if he isn’t a starter, and he could become a valuable swing tackle.
