Before she was Mrs Jonas, Sophie Turner has revealed she had a crack at seducing Friends star Matthew Perry.
In a new interview with Twitter, the Game of Thrones actress explained a post she shared in 2016 that read: “Holy balls. Chanandler Bong himself is rehearsing a play right next to my home.”
As any Friends fan worth their salt would know, “Chanandler Bong” is the name mistakenly written on Chandler Bing’s (Matthew Perry) TV guide subscription.
Addressing the tweet this week, Turner, 23, explained she would “walk around the corner every day” to her local supermarket and “see Matthew Perry smoking a cigarette”.
In a bid to spark up (sorry) a conversation with Perry — who at 49 is 26 years her senior — the actress admitted she bought a lighter from the shop so she could “walk up to him and offer to light his cigarette”.
But her seduction technique fell flat as “it was already lit, so that was just embarrassing.”
Turner added: “I thought he might see this tweet and then, I don’t know, reach out to me and ask me on a date or something, but he didn’t.”
But it turned out OK in the end for Turner who met her now-husband Joe Jonas in 2016 after he slid into her Instagram DMs.
In October 2017, they announced their engagement and wed in a surprise ceremony in Las Vegas after this year’s Billboard Music Awards.
