Some parts of the country could have a month’s worth of rain today as wet and windy conditions move in.
The wet spell will last well into the week and take temperatures below average for the time of year. The Met Office has issued four yellow weather warnings for rain, with a risk of local flooding and disruption to transport.
Parts of the east coast are likely to be worst affected, with between 40mm and 60mm of rain falling in some isolated spots.
