Atalanta are expected to sell Berat Djimsiti to Al-Diriyah, so ideas for a replacement include Jean-Clair Todibo of West Ham, Lazio’s Alessio Romagnoli, and Udinese defender Thomas Kristensen. Multiple sources are confident that Djimsiti has requested a transfer after he received a lucrative two-year contract proposal from Saudi Pro League side Al-Diriyah. The transfer fee on offer is also expected to be in the region of €3m, which would satisfy the Bergamo club. A more intriguing idea would be Romagnoli, who worked well with Maurizio Sarri at Lazio and does not seem eager to remain at the Stadio Olimpico.
He was meant to fly out to Qatar for Al-Sadd, but the negotiations broke down again after already hitting obstacles in January. Sky Sport Italia transfer pundit Gianluca Di Marzio identifies another alternative for Atalanta in the form of Kristensen. The Udinese defender had already been on the radar of new Atalanta director of sport Cristiano Giuntoli when working for Juventus.
