IF Kimi K3 and SpaceXAI Grok 4.5 and OpenAI GPT 5.6 collapse the pricing for Anthropic Fable in the next weeks.
Anthropic still has huge realized gains from pushing forward with a 3 month lead for Fable and a 9 month lead for Opus 4.5 and 4.X did let Anthropic capture $30-60 billion in actual earnings. There is also value in real world usage data and seeing how sticky it is to get companies and developers used to using Fable and Opus. It shows that running 3 months ahead is hugely valuable. It also shows you can never stop running at full speed. It also shows that the one month regulatory pause was worse than useless.
Anthropic is in an extremely strong but increasingly contested position. Short capability leads compound into massive, durable economic capture through revenue, data, and stickiness—even if the raw model edge erodes quickly afterward. The $30-60B in revenue and another $95 billion in fundraising is a reasonable ballpark for realized gains during their leadership windows and they could still leverage it into a good IPO for another $100+ billion.
Recent Fundraise and Valuation
Anthropic closed a $65 billion Series H on May 28, 2026, at a $965 billion post-money valuation. This was one of the largest private raises ever and put them ahead of OpenAI (previously valued around $852B post-money in March 2026).
IF Anthropic does not have the AI lead from Opus and Fable the fundraise would have been far, far smaller.
This followed a $30B Series G in February 2026 at $380B post-money. Total funding is now well over $125B.
Almost $100 billion in funding in the last 6 months and likely still heading to an IPO that will raise another $100-150 billion.
Run-rate revenue crossed $47 billion by mid-May 2026 (up from ~$9B at end of 2025, $14B in Feb, $30B in April). Run-rate revenue is likely $60 billion per year. This means they went from $1 billion per month to $5 billion per month in revenue.
