Samsung announced five new products during its Galaxy Unpacked event last month. Three of those are the new flagship smartphones: the Galaxy Z Fold 8, Z Fold 8 Ultra, and Z Flip 8. Amazon had pre-order deals that were supposed to last until their launch, but the deal is still active after their release. We don’t know for how long, so if you’re interested, get it before it’s gone. You can get an Amazon gift card up to $350, while Samsung is offering a max of $230 in Samsung credits. And if you’re looking to switch to T-Mobile, you can get a Galaxy Z Fold 8 on them. You can read more details on that deal here.

The Galaxy Z Flip8 doesn’t bring much change

If you were expecting a shiny new toy from the Z Flip 8, you might be disappointed—it’s not that different from the Z Flip 7. It has a 4.1-inch outer display and a 6.9-inch inner display, 12GB of RAM, and similar cameras to the Z Flip 7, including a 50MP Wide, 12MP Ultra Wide, and 10X Digital Zoom. Upgrades over the previous model include peak brightness that’s 1000 nits brighter, now reaching 2600 nits; there is a new 2x optical zoom; and the processor upgrades the SoC from the Exynos 2500.

The Galaxy Z Fold 8 is a new device

As Lifehacker Senior Tech Editor Jake Peterson says, the Z Fold 8 is not the upgraded version of the Z Fold 7: It’s a brand new device, which might appeal to users who want a phablet that takes up a little less space in their pocket. You can expect a 5.5-inch outer display, a 7.6-inch inner display, three rear cameras (50MP Wide, 50MP Ultra Wide, and 2x Optical Zoom), and the same Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chip as the rest of the “Z 8” line.

Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra. It has the biggest and best cameras (200MP Wide, 50MP Ultra Wide, and 10MP Tele), the largest displays (6.5-inch outer display, 8-inch inner display), and the biggest battery (5,000 mAh).
