Who Owns UGREEN, The Accessory And Electronics Brand?
SHARE

It helps to know where electronics companies come from, or rather their background, not just so you can differentiate products, but also so you better understand their foundation. Can you trust the brand? Are its products reliable? UGREEN is a perfect example of a company that’s making a name for itself, and one that now stands out quite a bit. Who owns UGREEN, and is it part of another parent company? Many people wonder whether Anker and UGREEN are the same. They are not.

UGREEN is owned by Ugreen Group Limited, a Chinese electronics manufacturer headquartered in Shenzhen, Guangdong. The company was originally founded back in 2012 by co-founders Zhang Qingsen and Chen Junling. Today, Qingsen serves as chairman and Junling as Vice Chairman. While it initially operated as an OEM cable maker, the company now makes international consumer electronics spanning a variety of categories, including chargers and power adapters, portable power banks, mini PCs, and even wireless audio gear like earbuds. In 2024, the company completed an initial public offering (IPO) on the Shenzhen Stock Exchange and became publicly owned.

Since its founding, the company has focused on new areas of development and continues to do so, which is why it now offers a wide range of consumer electronics rather than just chargers and cables. That explains how the company has branched out over the years, including into NAS systems and offerings, and is now becoming a household name. Moreover, it is considered one of the more reliable USB charger brands, competing with big names like Anker, Belkin and others.

What do people say about UGREEN and its products?

BGR’s Christian de Looper has reviewed several UGREEN products, such as the UGREEN Nexode chargers review and the UGREEN USB-C triple display docking station review. The former covers several charging models, and while the reviews are distinct, he came away with some positive thoughts overall. For instance, he calls the docking station “well-designed” with a “solid port selection,” and he considers several of the chargers “excellent.” The biggest downside, and a trend across UGREEN products, it seems, is that they can be expensive compared to similar options.

Because UGREEN has such an expansive selection of inventory, it’s difficult to gauge the overall consumer feel of the company, but many of its products are praised. The UGREEN NAS DXP4800 4-bay system has nearly 80 Amazon reviews and a 4.2-star rating. UGREEN’s ergonomic wireless mouse has over 1,700 reviews with a 4.4-star rating. A USB-C cable, a CAT 8 Ethernet cable, and a multi-port desktop charging station and power strip, all from UGREEN, have similar positive scores. BGR also recommends UGREEN products whenever applicable. One $15 UGREEN gadget can turn a USB port into an Ethernet connection and is highly rated, too. It has over 27,000 reviews and still scores 4.6 out of 5 stars. Other outlets also recommend UGREEN, such as Tom’s Hardware, ZDNET, on more than one occasion, and Bioreports.

While the products are generally well-reviewed, you may still encounter faulty or defective tech, slow fulfillment, shipping errors (buying from Amazon or another reputable retailer can help reduce that risk) or frustrating customer support experiences, especially since UGREEN is based in China.
