With the start of the NFL regular season on the horizon, there is excitement building around the Tennessee Titans and what their season could realistically look like. While the projected win totals are all over the board, head coach Robert Saleh has preached a one-game-at-a-time mindset, and no one in the locker room appears to be looking ahead.
But that doesn’t stop the national media outlets from making their thoughts known. This includes John Breech of CBS Sports, who looked into his crystal ball and predicted when Tennessee would lose its first game of 2026. Titans (vs. Eagles). In what comes as a surprise to no one, the Titans’ run at an undefeated season comes to an end in Week 2.
This prediction tracks with many other outlets, who don’t believe Tennessee is ready to take on a stout team like the Eagles. With the Titans hosting the New York Jets in what many consider the Robert Saleh revenge game in Week 1, coupled with the team celebrating running back Chris Johnson with his induction into the Ring of Honor, winning the opener does not feel like much of a stretch. The Titans could surprise, and going out on a limb to totally discount them this early is both understandable and risky, given it’s a home game for the Titans. But until the Titans prove otherwise, it is the logical choice.
