Francesco Totti is reportedly being lined up as an ambassador for the 2022 World Cup in Qatar.
According to Italian news agency Adnkronos, the 42-year-old is a hugely-popular figure in Qatar and several members of its organising committee for the World Cup are pushing for him to take on the role.
Totti stepped down as a Roma director last week, announcing his 27-year association with his hometown club had ended at a fiery Press conference.
The Giallorossi great is currently on holiday and should make a decision on his future once he returns, amidst claims an English team – believed to be Leeds United – have offered him a playing contract.
