When the Tennessee Titans traded up to select Texas linebacker Anthony Hill Jr.
in the 2026 NFL Draft, many believed the pick was a home run. And now, the further along the team moves into training camp, the more it looks like that was the case. Although Hill has, by all accounts, had a tremendous rookie training camp, he burst onto the NFL scene with an outstanding performance on Sunday Night Football against the Seattle Seahawks. Hill was not only the best linebacker, but he was arguably the Titans’ best player against the defending Super Bowl champs. After the game, Hill opened up on his interception and performance, as he continues to push toward increased playing time when the regular season hits. “Like, I’ll say really just trusting my keys, trusting my techniques, and I’ll just let the plays happen.
Like, you kind of just do your job, stay in the right spot, and you may make plays. You just got to make them.”
Hill has shown both great awareness and athleticism as he gains confidence in the new defensive scheme being installed by head coach Robert Saleh and defensive coordinator Gus Bradley. From day one, he has shown up and has proved to be a playmaker in practice, but that hard work is paying off as it is translating into game action. Currently, Hill remains behind veteran Cody Barton in the Titans’ lineup, but the more he makes an impact and flashes game-changing abilities, the harder it will be to keep him off the field.
