SpaceX AI leasing deals worth $28 billion annualized and earn roughly 3–5x more revenue per MW than traditional multi-year cloud commitments. SemiAnalysis explains that SpaceX is selling IMMEDIACY. If you need a lot of AI data center then you can get it now or in months. Anthropic got 300 MW usable within a month, versus waiting 1–3 years for a purpose-built campus. The premium is a scarcity and time-value charges. Anthropic and OpenAI are the most aggressive renters and are renting from Amazon, Google, Microsoft, Coreweave and now SpaceX.
Amazon AWS is the primary training partner for Anthropic. Project Rainier (~500K Trainium2 chips, Indiana) live since late 2025. April 2026 expansion targets up to ~5 GW of Trainium2/3/4 capacity. There will be about ~1 GW online by end-2026 and a $100B decade-long spend.
Anthropic has a Google Cloud has an Oct 2025 deal for up to 1M TPUs / over 1 GW. It is live and expanding in 2026.
Broadcom will supply Anthropic with 3.5 gigawatts of Google TPU capacity starting 2027 but most of it will not ready until 2028 or later.
Google is also investing tens of billions and backstopping Anthropic’s direct data-center leases (~>1 GW across 12+ preliminary US sites, mostly AFTER 2027 capacity).
SpaceX/xAI Colossus 1 (Memphis) — Anthropic is using all of Colossus 1’s compute: more than 300 MW across 220,000+ Nvidia GPUs (H100/H200/GB200), paying $1.25B/month through May 2029 — over $40B total — with a discounted rate for the first two months. This is live now (ramped to full utilization in May–June 2026).

Meta may start having extra AI data center capacity but they do not have it yet. Microsoft and Google are all short of AI data center capacity for their own use and use by customers. Microsoft and Google describe a huge backlog of demand.
