The New Orleans Saints are set to play the Los Angeles Rams this Saturday in a week two preseason contest. The Rams are coming off of a 20-12 win over the Kansas City Chiefs while New Orleans suffered a 24-20 defeat to the Jaguars in dramatic fashion. Offensively, the Saints managed to put up 221 yards through the air which ranked 10th in the NFL over last week’s schedule. Meanwhile, the Chiefs put up 189 against the Rams’ defense.
On the ground, New Orleans unfortunately could not muster any sort of momentum finishing with just 56 rushing yards against the Jags. That number put them dead last in the league.
Los Angeles gave up 125 ground yards to Kansas City last weekend. New Orleans and Los Angeles recently held a joint practice with one another ahead of Saturday’s preseason matchup.
During the workout period, both teams’ expected starters received majority of the action leaving the expectation that the backups and reserves will once again get increased opportunities in the actual game this weekend. With a second preseason game upon us and we continue to inch towards the start of the 2026 regular season, teams will really begin to dial in their final roster moves ahead of the new 53-man cut deadline which is scheduled for Sunday, August 30 this year.
