North Carolina has officially started its first sanctioned season of high school girls flag football. Wakefield, Palisades, and Cardinal Gibbons are the top three ranked teams after the first week of play. Several teams, including Wakefield, Leesville Road, and Apex, remain undefeated after the initial games.
It’s finally time for some flag football in the Tar Heel state. Things got up and running this past week in North Carolina, marking the start of the state’s first officially sanctioned season. The usual characters have already come out on the top of the pack. Wakefield, Palisades and Cardinal Gibbons make up our Top 3 after Week 1, already out to strong starts and, in Wakefield’s case, kicking off their state title defense. Here’s how it all shook out across the state:
