Arsenal are getting stuck into their transfer window now, aiming to sign Newcastle stalwart Bruno Guimaraes as soon as possible.
The midfielder has told the Magpies he wants to leave, and now just has to hope that the Gunners make a bid big enough to get a deal done. Former Premier League scout Keith Wyness has some strong views about where the move could go from here. Newcastle see the writing on the wall over midfielder “Bruno is probably the heartbeat of Newcastle and the fans would probably agree with me. He’s been the heart and soul of the club going forward” Wyness told Football Insider. “Is there a middle ground here at £90m? Will Arsenal go up? Will Newcastle come down?
And I think the player in this case has all the cards. “If he decides he wants to go to London and play for Arsenal, which I’m hearing he does, then I think you may see Arsenal make the deal sweet enough that Newcastle will have to accept it. “It’s close enough that I think it can get done and structured in some way, and I think Newcastle can see the writing on the wall. It’s a difficult one for them. But I do expect Bruno to push that through.”
In other news… Chelsea are about to sign their latest promising youth star to a new contract – and he will then be sent on loan to a club in Europe’s top 5 leagues. Benfica are closing in on a loan deal for Jhon Duran which could see the Colombian striker move to Lisbon on a permanent deal.
