On Saturday evening, the USC football team fell 41-27 to Oregon at the Coliseum.
With the loss, the Trojans dropped to 4-1 on the season and 1-1 in Big Ten play. Naturally, USC head coach Lincoln Riley has drawn a ton of criticism since the game. On his national college football show Sunday night, prominent analyst Josh Pate said that he is officially out on Riley. “I’m done,” Pate said. “Lincoln Riley’s not gonna do it for me. “Last night was not just a loss for [USC].
Last night’s impact will be felt well beyond. “[Riley is] half a decade in at this point. You got Oregon at home, in year five. And the result is nothing’s changed. “I’m selling everything on USC. I’m out.”
It should be noted that Pate has been one of Riley’s biggest defenders among the national media in the past. The fact that he of all people is out on the coach is certainly a glaring sign.
