Real Madrid are reportedly open to letting James Rodriguez join Napoli on loan with option to buy, so a deal could be imminent.
Carlo Ancelotti’s desire to reunite with the Colombia international is no secret, having worked with him in Madrid and at Bayern Munich.
According to Sky Sport Italia transfer expert Gianluca Di Marzio, this evening Real Madrid finally accepted the idea of a loan with option to buy.
It is not dissimilar to the deal Bayern Munich had, although that lasted two years at a cost of €13m with option to buy for another €40m.
Napoli would reportedly pay €10m for the one-season James loan and the option to buy somewhere between €30m and €40m.
The fact they are prepared to do another loan deal with option is already a major breakthrough in the negotiations for the trequartista who turns 28 next month.
