Major German E. coli outbreak sickened almost 500

Almost 500 people were sick in a major E. coli outbreak in Germany in 2025, according to recently released figures from a regional State Office for Health and Social Affairs.

The Landesamt für Gesundheit und Soziales (LAGuS) in Mecklenburg-Vorpommern reported there were 476 possible cases and three deaths. It was previously known that 428 infections were connected to the outbreak.
