Former Georgia Bulldogs tight end Tre’ McKitty has landed back in the NFL after a stint in the United Football League (UFL). McKitty won a UFL championship with the Louisville Kings. He posted five catches for 98 yards with Louisville and more importantly earned another NFL opportunity. The Washington Commanders signed McKitty as part of several different roster moves.

McKitty was a third-round pick in the 2021 NFL draft. He started his career with the Los Angeles Chargers and has 16 receptions for 117 yards in his NFL career. Since the Chargers waived McKitty in 2023, he has bounced around the NFL with stints on the Buffalo Bills, Cleveland Browns and Houston Texans. McKitty, 27, has not appeared in an NFL game since 2023, but has been on several different practice squads. McKitty will look to a make a quick impression with the Commanders. Washington plays the Detroit Lions on Saturday, Aug. 22 at noon ET in preseason Week 2.
