The Tennessee Titans made a plethora of offseason moves to change their fortunes on the field, but they aren’t receiving much respect from CBS Sports heading into the 2026 NFL season. In CBS Sports’ 2026 NFL roster rankings, Tennessee came in at Number 28 overall, placing the Titans among the bottom five rosters in the league. It’s a tough ranking for a team that believes it improved significantly this offseason, but the evaluation also leaves plenty of room for Tennessee to prove the ranking wrong. Cam Ward is the key for change in Nashville Despite its low ranking for the Titans, CBS Sports noted that the ranking might be too low if Cam Ward makes the jump the team expects this season.
Quarterback is the most important position in football, so getting high-level production from that position holds the key to success, even if the rest of the roster is upgraded. The Titans have surrounded Ward with a revamped supporting cast, which CBS Sports acknowledged by recognizing their wide receiver depth as “The good” for the team. The offensive line also changed, but they acknowledge it as their biggest question mark.
Ultimately, both units will have to gel along with the running backs and tight ends if they want Ward to take the team to new heights. If Ward takes the anticipated leap, the young receivers emerge, and head coach Robert Saleh’s defense makes significant progress, their number 28 ranking will look very low by the end of the season. For now, though, the Titans have another national ranking to use as motivation.
