Atalanta are stepping up their efforts to sign both Sevilla striker Luis Muriel and Genk midfielder Ruslan Malinovskyi for a combined €30m.
The Bergamo club promised to reinforce after Champions League qualification and are backing that up with some intriguing approaches.
According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, they continue negotiations with Belgian side Genk for Malinovskyi, hoping to reduce the €20m asking price to an eventual deal worth €15m, perhaps with some bonuses thrown in.
The 26-year-old Ukraine international has given the all-clear for a move to Serie A, while it is familiar territory for Muriel, who just concluded a six-month loan spell with Fiorentina.
That deal had included a €13m option to buy, on top of the €1m loan fee, so Atalanta are counting on a transfer fee worth no more than €15m for the 28-year-old Colombian hitman.
Other names under consideration include Young Boys right-sided midfielder Christian Fassnacht, whose asking price is €6m.
