Atalanta have agreed terms to sign Luis Muriel from Sevilla for €15m plus performance-related bonuses, despite a knee injury, claim Sky Sport Italia.
The negotiations had been going on for a few days and there were concerns the deal could crumble after he suffered an injury during the Copa America.
The Colombian football federation confirmed he suffered a collateral knee ligament lesion, which rules him out for five to seven weeks.
However, it’s reported the Colombia international has a full agreement and more importantly the two clubs have also shaken hands on €15m plus another €3m in bonuses.
Muriel spent the last six months on loan at Fiorentina, scoring nine goals in 23 games between Serie A and the Coppa Italia.
He’ll be reunited with fellow Colombian striker Duvan Zapata in Bergamo and play in the Champions League.
Fiorentina had an option to buy for €13m, but didn’t take it up.
