“You can pay someone $50,000 to do this for you today. There’s a lot of clinics that’ll do it, and it’s not a special FDA-approved drug,” he said.
Moderna market cap went from roughly $20B to $60B on the trial readouts. Friedberg calls the patent-and-price structure a form of regulatory capture on publicly funded science.
Moderna’s cancer vaccine is priced near $500,000.
Clinics are already doing the same thing for $50,000.
