Winding down as we continue in our “3 unanswered questions series,” we have two teams left out of the NFL’s 32.
Pete Carroll couldn’t get the Las Vegas Raiders turned around quickly enough and was fired after going 3-14 in his first season in Vegas. Seahawks offensive coordinator Klint Kubiak has replaced him. They have some weapons this season, but will it be enough?
Or will Raiders fans have to be patient yet again? Klint Kubiak was the driving force of bringing in Kirk Cousins so that first-round draft pick Fernando Mendoza wouldn’t be thrown to the wolves right off the bat in a tough market. The main question heading into training camp is, “how long before Mendoza takes over under center?” I believe that Raiders fans wish Cousins success and want to see him play at a high level, but the backup QB is always the most popular person in the room, especially in Vegas. Will there be any drama surrounding Maxx Crosby after he requested a trade, had it granted, then failed a physical to nix it and head back to Vegas? How committed will he be to the constant rebuild that is the Raiders? There could be drama at some point, right? Rick Dennison was brought in to revamp the offensive line and has worked magic at every stop.
If he can do so and protect whoever is under center for the Raiders, that unit could very well be one of the best in the NFL.
