Genoa are close to signing Adama Soumaoro from Ligue 1 side Lille, according to Sky Sport Italia.
Soumaoro is a 27-year-old centre back who can also play either at right or left-back.
The defender worked his way through the Lille academy and has been playing in the first team since the 2013-14 season.
Soumaoro is a duel citizen, holding both French and Malian passports.
He’s played six games for the Ligue 1 side this season, with four starts.
Sky Sport Italia claims that only the official announcement is missing.
