Ogun State Governor Dapo Abiodun has postponed its lockdown on public and private activities till April 3 to enable residents prepare adequately and stock their homes with basic necessities.

The lockdown was initially billed to start on Sunday Midnight but was shifted till 11pm on Monday in difference to President Muhammadu Buhari’s directive.

It was further shifted till April 3 after consulting with the President and getting permission from same.

Abiodun said he went into self-isolation upon returning to Nigeria after attending the March 10 party in the United Kingdom, adding that he submitted himself for testing and came out negative.

The governor spoke at when he inaugurated the 128-bed COVID-19 Isolation Centre at the HID Awolowo Model School in Ikenne.

The facility, built by his predecessor but left to lie fallow, was converted to an isolation centre.

According to the governor, the government has provided over 300-bed Isolation Centres across the state.
