Leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra, Nnamdi Kanu has slammed the presidency for backing the Minister of Communication, Isa Pantami despite calls for his resignation over reported link with terrorist groups, such as the al-Qaeda but attack Rev. Fr. Mbaka for criticising President Mujammadu Buhari.

The Minister had in one of his sermons in the 2000s said he considered al-Qaeda founder, Osama Bin Laden, a better Muslim than himself.

DAILY POST reports that the minister’s comment had triggered many concerned Nigerians to demand his resignation over suspicion that he may be shielding the Boko Haram terrorists.

In another development, the presidency on Friday attacked the Spiritual Director of Adoration Ministry Enugu, Rev. Father Ejike Mbaka for calling on the president to resign over failure to address the worsening security situation in the country.

Buhari’s spokesman, Garba Shehu in a statement, alleged that the clergy’s criticism was because the President failed to award contract to him.

He alleged that Mbaka once visited the president at the State House demanding for contract as a reward for his support in the 2015 and 2019 general election.

Reacting, the IPOB leader said the President backed the Pantami but was inciting hatred against Mbaka.

In a post on his official Facebook page, Kanu said: “You refused to remove PANTAMI a Terrorist, but you want me to condemn Rev Father MBAKA: We must protect our own”.

Similarly, in his recent tweet on Twitter, Kanu said there was no need for Mbaka to address the allegation levelled against him.

“What has contract to do with Rev Fr. Mbaka calling for the impeachment of the mask-wearing #Fulani terrorist in Aso Rock?

“Anybody asking Mbaka to address the issue of contract is a sophisticated moron, an educated illiterate. Quit gossiping, focus on the issue of impeachment,” he said.
