Is Ebola about to make a comeback?
Washington Dulles International Airport has hired part-time crew to screen travelers for the virus, according to the DailyMail.com.
The Northern Virginia Emergency Medical Services Council told the news outlet all of the jobs for screeners advertised by government contractor Caduceus Healthcare in August were filled. It’s unclear if Dulles previously employed Ebola screeners.
Separately, the Epoch Times reported that the Los Angeles County Department of Public Health was looking for a public health nurse to supervise a “biothreat response” program. The ad listed Ebola and other potential threats.
The second-deadliest Ebola outbreak in history has spread through three provinces in the Democratic Republic of Congo, infecting more than 3,000 people and killing more than 2,000 since last year. The number of cases has slowed, but officials in multiple countries fear migrants can spread the virus, which has also appeared in Uganda and Guinea.
No cases linked to the current outbreak have been reported in the US.
