Celebrity X Factor has confirmed that Vinnie Jones will be taking part after all with a surprise cameo in tonight’s show.
It was unclear whether Vinnie, 54, would be in the competition as his wife Tanya tragically died from cancer just before filming.
Dermot O’Leary told the other contestants that he wouldn’t be there because of “personal reasons”.
But in the end of the episode he was seen having a phone call with Simon Cowell, who asked him to be in the live shows.
Simon told him: “We’d love you to be on the live shows this year, we’d welcome you and give you all the help you need.”
Vinnie said he’d “be honoured” to take part because his wife wanted him to.
Simon also asked him how he and his kids were getting on.
Vinnie said: “My daughter is fantastic, she’s been strong, it’s really brought us closer together.
“We are just getting through it, you just learn to carry the grief really Simon.
“Well Tan’s pushed me really Simon, we knew it was all going on, and I put it to the family and Tan was very excited about it.”
Tanya died at the age of 53 at her Los Angeles home on Saturday July 6 after a long battle with cancer.
Back in 2013, Vinnie revealed that both he and Tanya were suffering from melanoma, the most serious type of skin cancer.

Tanya, who had undergone an emergency heart transplant at the age of 21, had already been treated for cervical cancer twice.
Vinnie found a lump under his eye and a check-up revealed he had malignant melanoma.
Tanya then developed the same illness and they fought it together.
