Addressing the APC decampees, Iduh assured them of equal opportunities in PDP and admonished them to work faithfully for the party as the umbrella was big enough to accommodate everyone.

He urged PDP faithful in the area to accommodate the new entrants and work for the overall interest of the people.

Responding on behalf of the decampees, former APC coordinator in Ward 7, Charles Nwankwo, said their decision to join PDP was informed by the sterling leadership qualities of Governor Ifeanyi Okowa and his outstanding accomplishments in the development of the state.

Recall that Governor Okowa, on Tuesday, May 18, dissolved his cabinet and directed all permanent secretaries to take charge of the various ministries with immediate effect.

The decision also affected the secretary to the state government, chief of staff to the government house, and Okowa’s senior political adviser.

Charles Aniagwu, a former commissioner for information, explained that the governor’s decision was aimed at giving room for fresh blood to strengthen the administration’s vision of building a stronger state.

Governor Okowa said adherence to fiscal discipline and superior planning accounted for the successes recorded by his administration in the state in the last six years.

Okowa stated this in an interview with select journalists in Asaba on Saturday, May 29 as part of activities to mark the 6th year anniversary of his administration.

The governor said his administration’s success during the period was borne out of greater coordination in administration and superior thought-process.
