Napoli are still stalling Simone Verdi to Torino and could prefer to send Adam Ounas to Nice or Lille on loan instead.
It had been reported for at least a month that Verdi would be released for Torino once Napoli signed Hirving Lozano from PSV Eindhoven.
With that €42m move imminent and a medical expected for Wednesday, Verdi is suddenly no longer so clear on the exit strategy.
According to Sportitalia, the former Bologna man has impressed Carlo Ancelotti in pre-season and could’ve done enough to earn an extended stay.
Instead, Algeria international winger Ounas might be sent out on loan to get more regular playing time.
Cagliari had been interested, but a Ligue 1 move for Nice or Lille is more likely.
The important thing is that Napoli will not allow an option to buy, as they believe Ounas can become a star.
