The abducted female staff in a school bus belonging to Chimola Schoo in Ondo state has been released by her abductors.
According to The Nation, the staff who gave her name as Omolayo Ojo, said the gunmen missed their target as no pupil was inside the bus when they struck.
Ojo narrated that driver of the vehicle was on a routine of picking pupils when the gunmen, who rode on motorcycles blocked them and diverted the bus to a bush.
According to Daily Trust, she said the gunmen threatened to harm her if she did not cooperate with them.
The staff stated that obeyed all their instructions and was released when they said she was innocent.
The matter has been reported to the police.
. had earlier reported that gunmen on Thursday morning hijacked a school bus in Oba-Ile Estate, Akure north local government area of Ondo state, abducting one of the staff of Chimola School, who was on duty to convey pupils to the school.
The Guardian learnt that the incident occurred around 6:45 am while the driver and the attendant were moving round to pick the pupils of Chimola School, situated inside the estate to their school.
He said the abductors, who were armed with guns, cutlass and some other weapons, dragged down the driver from the vehicle and threatened to kill him.
According to him, the bus was driven away by one of the hijackers while others moved away from the scene on motorcycles.
