Two-year-old boy is injured in savage knife attack as ‘gang repeatedly stab man, 24, as he held child outside pub’Boy was injured after gang attacked a 24-year-old man, stabbing him repeatedly The man was rushed to hospital after the attack and he is now fighting for his life Two-year-old did not suffer serious injuries in the brutal assault outside of a pubBy Danyal Hussain For Mailonline Published: 08:05 EDT, 7 October 2019 | Updated: 10:21 EDT, 7 October 2019 A two-year-old boy was injured after being dropped in a brutal gang attack that left a man fighting for his life with multiple stab wounds. Emergency services were called to reports of a fight outside the Flower Pot pub in West Bromwich in the West Midlands just before 6.40pm last night.A 24-year-old man was attacked by a gang outside the pub, near to the town centre, and stabbed several times.He was treated at the scene and taken to hospital by paramedics with serious injuries, where he remains today in a critical condition.Shockingly, a two-year-old boy was also taken to hospital with minor injuries he suffered during the attack.A witness said the man was holding the boy when he was attacked and tried to shield him from the gang.  A two-year-old boy was injured after a gang stabbed a man multiple times outside the Flower Pot pub in West Bromwich, West Midlands last night The man is fighting for his life after the attack outside of the pub, though the two-year-old suffered minor injuriesThey added: ‘He was holding the baby when they stabbed him. He dropped the boy after they continued to hit him outside the pub.’West Midlands Police said in a statement: ‘At this stage, it is believed that the boy was not injured with any weapons. He suffered minor cuts and abrasions, consistent with him having fallen.’Detective Sergeant Paul Cook, from West Midlands Police CID, added: ‘I understand the concerns of the community and would like to offer reassurance that we’re doing all we can to establish what happened yesterday and find those responsible.’If you saw what happened, or have any information about the incident please get in touch.’A West Midlands Ambulance Service spokesperson added: ‘We were called at 6.37pm to reports of a man who has been assaulted by a number of others; they had left scene.’We sent an ambulance, two paramedic officers and the Midlands Air Ambulance Critical Care Car.
