Mauricio Pochettino could become the next Real Manager as the Spanish club continues in the quest to get a formidable replacement for under-fire manager Zinedine Zidane.

SunSport citing Spanish outlet El Transistor are claiming that the former Tottenham boss has been officially contacted to seek his interest as regards taking the plum job.

The report further claims that top officials at Real Madrid will ensure the manager is shown the exit door despite his laudable achievements since he returned to manage the team.

Zidane guided the team to a convincing 3-1 over Barcelona in another edition of the El Clasico as the reigning La Liga champions ran away with all three points from the Camp Nou.

But there are fears that the French tactician Zidane could voluntarily leave the club following the lingering turmoil at the club as his future also looks bleak.

Real Madrid were handed a defeat in the first Champions League game of the season by Shakhtar Donetsk having lost to La Liga new boys Cadiz four days earlier.

The club chiefs are more angered that both losses come right at their Santiago Bernabeu home ground.

And Pochettino has been out of job since he was fired at Premier League club Tottenham in November 2019 despite guiding the club to the Champions League final few months earlier.

The Argentine tactician is also wanted by Manchester United as they are also hoping he could come in as a replacement for boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.

Yet the 48-year-old stated last year how he wants to be in charge of Los Blancos at one point in his career.

And Pochettino claimed again last month that it was ‘his dream’ to manage Real.

Meanwhile, Legit.ng earlier reported that Arsene Wenger has revealed he turned down chances to manage Champions League teams due to his loyalty to Arsenal.

The 71-year-old managed the Gunners for over two decades before parting ways with them in the summer of 2018. Despite winning three Premier Leagues and seven FA Cups, the Frenchman failed to win a European title for them.

And two years after leaving the North Londoners, Wenger says he is open to returning to football management but insisted he is skeptical about the job.
