Eric Dier raced down the tunnel to use the toilet facility during Tottenham’s Carabao Cup game against Chelsea on Tuesday night, September 29, with his side trailing 1-0 at that moment.

Furious Jose Mourinho was seen as he stormed down the area to fetch the player with Timo Werner’s lone goal for Chelsea set to knock them out of the competition.

And moments later, the player emerged from the tunnel as well as the manager to the amusement of fans, it appeared Dier had no choice but to leave the pitch to use the toilet.

Match of the Day presenter Gary Lineker tweeted: “Strange scenes as Eric Dier runs off the pitch to the dressing room, followed hastily by Mourinho.

“Then Dier runs back out to resume playing. Presumably he needed the loo. Players just don’t sh*t on the pitch anymore. What’s wrong with them?”

However Erik Lamela equalized for Spurs in the 83rd minute and Tottenham eventually won the tie during penalty shootout with Mason Mount missing the Blues’ last spot kick.

Dier was handed the Man of the Match award as he inspired his team to victory in the game.

The 26-year-old has dedicated the award to the ‘life saving toilet’ referring to it as real ‘Man of the Match’.

Recall that Dier was in the middle of another controversy when he was captured jumping over the advertising hoardings before clambering over several rows of seats to reach the supporter.

The incident occurred against Norwich in the fifth round of the FA Cup game after it ended 1-1 forcing the match into extra time but Spurs lost the game.

Meanwhile, Legit.ng earlier reported that Dele Alli is reportedly prepared to dump Tottenham following a row with manager Jose Mourinho and former Arsenal star Ray Palour has urged the Gunners to launch a bid for the England star.

The 24-year-old has an uncertain future with Spurs as reports say he recently had a fall out with manager Jose Mourinho.

Alli was branded ‘lazy’ by Mourinho and he was substituted at halftime during their Premier League home loss to Everton in their Premier League season opener.
