The Queen smiled broadly as she met with members of the clergy ahead of the anniversary service today  The Duchess of Cornwall shared a smile with the clergy at Westminster Abbey as she made the rare joint appearance alongside the Queen at Westminster Abbey today  While the Queen chatted to some of the clergy, Camilla appeared to take in the stunning surrondings of the Abbey  Camilla appeared relaxed during the service today, which marked the 750th anniversary of Westminster Abbey  One schoolgirl was seen curtsying low as they offered her posie of yellow and white flowers to the Queen  The Queen appeared delighted to accept the yellow and white posies from the schoolgirl, who beamed as she offered the Monarch the flowers  The royals appeared charmed by the schoolchildren, who were selected to offer posies as they are children of the Abbey’s staff  During the service, Dr John Hall acknowledged the lengthy history of the Abbey, saying: ‘Today we celebrate the history of this Abbey and its Church and mark it’s continuing significance as a place of worship and of memorial, standing firmly for faith at the heart of our nation and Commonwealth and of the wider world.’Following the hour-long service, The Queen and Camilla were presented with small bouquets of posies by schoolchildren.The children, who were selected as they are related to staff who work at the abbey, could be seen bowing low to the Queen as they offered their posies of yellow and white flowers.   As the royal departed the event, she could be seen clutching the service sheet, which read: ‘A service to celebrate the 750th anniversary of the rebuilding of Westminster Abbey.’   Another young boy bowed his head low as he offered Camilla a posie of yellow and white flowers  The royals beamed as they accepted posies from some of the Abbey staff’s children, before departing from the service  Her Royal Highness was seen chatting to Dr John Hall as she left Westminster Abbey following the service this morning  The Queen was seen carrying her small posie of flowers as well as a service sheet following the service The Queen was seen beaming and offering a royal wave to crowds of on-lookers as she departed the Abbey following the hour long service this morning. It comes amid a busy week for the Queen, who returned to work after her summer in Balmoral on Friday. The royal spent her first day back visiting Haig Housing Development, which has been providing housing assistance to veterans for over 100 years, in London.And yesterday, the Monarch outlined the government’s new legislative package in the a speech at the State Opening of Parliament.   The Queen was seen beaming at on-lookers as she departed the hour-long service at Westminster Abbey this morning  The royal could be seen offering a royal wave as she left the Abbey following the anniversary service
