‘That’s f—ed up’: Beto condemns gun violence by dropping F-bomb on live TV

Presidential candidate Beto O’Rourke cursed on live TV Sunday morning to drive home his point about gun violence in the United States.

Appearing on CNN’s State of the Union, the 46-year-old former congressman from Texas was played a clip from the campaign trail where he said Saturday’s shooting in west Texas and gun violence across the country was “f—ed up.”

After the clip played with the word bleeped out, O’Rourke used the same language on CNN, where it wasn’t censored.

“The rhetoric that we’ve used … it has done nothing to stop the epidemic of gun violence,” O’Rourke said. “To protect our kids, our families, our fellow Americans in public places. At a Walmart in El Paso where 22 were killed. In Sutherland Springs, in a church. One or two a day all over this country. A hundred killed daily in the United States of America. We’re averaging about 300 mass shootings a year. No other country comes close.”

“So yes, this is f—ed up,” O’Rourke exclaimed.

“And if we don’t call it out for what it is, if we’re not able to speak clearly, if we’re not able to act decisively, then we will continue to have this kind of bloodshed in America,” he added. “And I cannot accept that.”

The presidential contender went on to discuss how he wants to see universal background checks, red flag laws, and a ban on assault weapons.

Five people were killed and 21 were injured in Saturday afternoon’s shooting. The gunman, identified as a white male in his mid-30s, was shot and killed by police.
