Liverpool will miss the services of their captain Jordan Henderson when they host Arsenal at Anfield on Monday, September 28.
The 30-year-old was said to have picked up a knock during his side’s 2-0 victory over Chelsea at Stamford Bridge on Matchday two.
He was forced off the pitch mid-way into the encounter with new signing Thiago Alcantara taking over for the remainder of the game.
According to Daily Mail, Henderson’s absence could see the Spaniard start his first match for the Reds in a few days’ time, having already impressed on his debut against the Blues.

“We will see. We have a few days to train, some players have to recover from last night (the 7-2 Carabao Cup win over Lincoln), but he is in contention,’ said manager Jurgen Klopp.
Klopp also revealed that he could start Joe Gomez in the centre-back position – allowing Fabinho who played the position last weekend return to his original wing.
“Joe should be back today in training. Billy the Kid (17-year-old centre-back Billy Koumetio) is back in training. Joel (Matip) is not. Hendo is not yet, this game is for sure too early.”
The former Borussia Dortmund handler added that he is unsure how his team against the Gunners will look until he observes the team for some days.
“We will see. We have a few days to train, some boys have to recover so we will see how we set up. “I have an idea but we time until Monday. He (Thiago) is in contention for sure. Let’s see.’
Both Liverpool and Arsenal have maintained a 100 percent winning record since the season started having claimed six points apiece in their opening two Premier League fixtures.
The Reds boss however has some kind words to describe his colleague and rival ahead of their meeting next week.
“I am not sure I should compare, but Arteta has showed in a short period he seems to be an exceptional football manager.
“The team he sets up now, the structure is exceptional. You can see the balance between defence and attack. Good organisation but freedom for players, uses them in right place.
“He’s done a pretty impressive job. He has changed the whole mood in the club, I don’t think a lot of people thought he would have won anything but he did that with the FA Cup. “And now the English super cup, that’s pretty impressive. They will be a tough opponent.’
Bioreports earlier reported that Georginio Wijnaldum could still leave Liverpool this transfer window after he was said to have rejected a chance to extend his reign at Anfield.
The 29-year-old midfielder has been heavily linked to join the Catalans after the arrival of Ronald Koeman at the club.
Although his current deal with the Reds will expire in June 2021, he could part ways with the Merseyside outfit before the transfer market closes.
